Translation: Dallas/Fort Worth, TX.
Okay, y'all, this is where I grew up. I'll try to keep it short, but you know how it goes with your hometown. I could go on for hours days about all the nooks and crannies in the DFW area just begging to be explored. Am I right, locals?
Apartment Life was dreamed up and birthed in our North Texas region, and is one of the larger areas in which we have CARES Teams - over 100 teams in 20 cities all within about an hour of one another.
And the traffic is awful.
When I think about the Dallas/Fort Worth area, the first things that come to mind are places to eat and drink. Perhaps it's because I'm a foodie at heart, or because the average American spends 32,098 hours eating and drinking in their lifetime (according to this study). Either way, there is some good stuff to eat and drink here. And, if you know the good spots to eat (the more obscure and delicious, the better), you belong. Congratulations! There are entire parks dedicated to food trucks, there's upscale, there's local, and there's this wonderful place called Babe's Chicken. From northeast Dallas to southwest Fort Worth, you'll never have an empty belly.
Along with never being hungry again, you'll probably never be bored. There are gorgeous things outside to do, and see, and explore. When the Earth betrays the state of Texas, leaving it for dead in about August, there are plenty of inside things to enjoy as well! Did you know there's a vintage flying museum in Fort Worth? I didn't, until researching for this post, and I think that is really cool.
Vintage is a trendy buzzword, so I'm in.
If you've lived in this area your entire life, you have probably explored more than someone who got to Texas as fast as they could and arrived yesterday. But, I would argue that if you've "seen everything", there are still more adventures to be had and some fundamental DFW places to introduce (or reintroduce) your residents to.
One final thought... If you're in the mood for a field trip (or a stay-cation), Denton, TX is just about my favorite place in this great state. I am captivated by old courthouses, as you can tell from the photos above, and Denton's is no exception. The inside is gorgeous as well, so take the tour (cute little girl not included)!
We would love to hear about your favorite spots and adventures! Leave us a comment and be sure to check out our DFW Pinterest board for links, calendars, resources, and more.
