Hosting an Instagram Trivia Challenge

Written by Apartment LIfe | Aug 27, 2020 3:19:28 PM

Looking for a new way to engage your community virtually? Consider hosting a Trivia Challenge!

Our team at Novel Noda put on this fun activity recently, and we are sharing all the ins and outs so you can bring it to your communities!

Step 1

ADVERTISE TO YOUR NEIGHBORS

You’ll want to create a graphic and spread the word to all of your people. The more participation, the better!

Check out some editable templates here and here.

Step 2

CREATE YOUR LIST OF QUESTIONS

Lucky for you, we’ve got a complete list on our Pinterest board. :)

To save time, type out your questions ahead of time and hang on to your answers for quick review.

Step 3

UPLOAD & ACCESS YOUR QUESTIONS

Once you log on to Instagram, head to your story. From here, you’ll want to upload your introductory graphic and then in the following slides post your quiz questions. You can access the trivia activity by clicking on the middle box and then scrolling to find “questions.” You will post each question individually and monitor the responses as the game continues. To view answers, simply scroll up on the image and click the trivia button and all the individual responses will show up.

Step 4

AWARD WINNERS

Now for the fun part… after you tally the scores you can shout out to the winners. Think of awarding gift cards to local restaurants or small businesses to support them during the tough season. Tag your finalists, and voila - you’re all set!

You know what to do now…share your pictures and celebrate your amazing work by tagging @aptlife on Instagram and sending your images to share@apartmentlife.org!

Great work, you’re a #virtualeventexpert ;)

MISCELLANEOUS TIPS

  • You can also host this by going live on Instagram instead of posting to your stories.

  • If you don’t want to tally each answer, you can simply enter their name into a drawing if they participated on every question.

As with all activities and resources, please be sure to sync with your program director
and property manager before hosting your event.
