At many of our Resident Services community partnerships, a food pantry is a regular service element. A place where people can privately come and retrieve necessary items needed for their family.

This is one simple idea that's meeting a very real need...and it's also a picture of what Apartment Life's Resident Services program is designed to do.

About Resident Services

You may already be familiar with our popular conventional program, where an individual coordinator, or a team of two, hosts events, welcomes new residents, provides renewal check-ins, and offers personalized resident care.

But did you know we offer resident services programming? This program is specifically designed for affordable, tax-credit, workforce and low-income conventional housing communities. Coordinators work alongside onsite teams to address the practical, physical and emotional needs of residents through wraparound services, while also providing life enrichment, creating a sense of community, and helping properties meet resident-service and compliance requirements.

That can look different from one community to the next because the needs are different.

In one community, it may mean connecting a resident with job or financial resources. In another, it may mean health and wellness programming, educational opportunities or services for children and families. And in communities like this one in Athens, it can mean creating and supporting an onsite food and household pantry.

Resident Services helps close that gap by putting someone onsite whose role includes building relationships, identifying needs, connecting resources and working alongside the property team to strengthen the resident experience.

Creating a Sense of Belonging

Regardless of the style of community you serve, our goal is to create a sense of belonging within the places we serve. This is why we train our coordinators to go above and beyond. To learn the names of their residents, ask curious questions, and look for ways to care for them. 

This is how a neighborhood is formed! Thriving residents begin to experience a new quality of life. They love where they live and are eager to renew. This, in turn, benefits everyone - from the residents' well-being to the satisfaction of onsite staff, and the apartment community's bottom line. Changing business. Changing lives.
