We are revisiting a crowd-pleasing event that continues to be a favorite among our communities: Bingo! Beyond the traditional ways to play the game, check out these new ways to bring your favorite classic event to life in your community.
Here are 5 new ways to play Bingo with your neighbors.
1. Decades Music Bingo
Switch up the traditional letter and number approach and use a Music Bingo Kit like this one to create a memorable experience! Instead of calling out numbers, play short clips of popular songs while residents listen and mark the matching song or artist on their cards. You can build the event around a theme like 80s pop culture or 2000s throwbacks, and before long, people will be singing along! This is an easy way to turn a familiar game into an experience that brings the room together.
2. Picture Bingo
Instead of calling out numbers, print a Bingo card with pictures and hold up the image for everyone to see. This family-friendly spin on the game allows children who may not be able to read yet to play along. You can even use this template to insert neighbor photos or their pet photos as the spaces to personalize it for your community.

3. Plant or Pumpkin Bingo
This fun event idea came from one of our coordinators! Instead of giving out gift cards for a prize, purchase a variety of plants or pumpkins to display. Each time a resident wins BINGO, they get to go home with their new gift. Not only will residents enjoy playing the game, but their chosen prize will also give them a fun conversation starter with one another throughout the night.
4. People Bingo: "Find Someone Who"
One of the best ways to encourage neighbors to talk amongst themselves and step out of their comfort zone is to make it a game! In this version, each resident receives a bingo card filled with prompts like "Find someone who has traveled to three continents" or "Find someone who can speak more than two languages." The goal is to find people in the group who match the descriptions and have them sign their square on the card. The first player to get a complete row, column, or diagonal of signed squares shouts "Bingo!" and wins. This is a great way to cultivate connection and mingling among residents.
